Dog Licenses

Why Do I Need to Purchase a Dog License?

West Newbury residents who own dogs are legally required to license their dog with Town Offices annually, by May 1st.

What Do I Need to Purchase the License and How Much Will It Cost?

You will need a check, cash, or credit card to purchase the license:

Unfixed Dogs: $25

Fixed Dogs: $15

Please note residents over 70 years of age do not have to pay for their license. Additionally, if your license fee remains unpaid after May 1st, an additional fee of $10.00 shall be due. An additional $10.00 per dog shall be added to the license fee on June 1st, July 1st, and August 1st. Any dog owner who does not pay the license fee beyond that date shall be subject to further fines in addition to the license fee.
