Vital Records (Birth, Death, Marriage Certificates)

The Town Clerk also acts as the Town Registrar of Vital Records and Statistics. The Office accepts for filing and maintains records of all births, deaths and marriages that occur in West Newbury. Births or adoptions of children whose parents reside in West Newbury are recorded. Deaths of town residents who pass away in other communities are also recorded. The Town Clerk is authorized to issue certified copies of birth, death and marriage records, and administers adoption and record-change depositions.

There is no fee for filing a vital record, however, there is a fee for obtaining a certified copy of a vital record. The fee for a certified copy is $10.00.  Anyone may inspect vital records (except out of wedlock birth records may be inspected only by those individuals named on the record). You may request a certified copy of a birth, death or marriage record by phone, fax, mail, in person, or on-line.
