Select Board establishes new Affordable Housing Trust Bylaw Committee

Call for volunteers and interested residents!

On November 15th, Select Board adopted a Charge to establish a new Affordable Housing Trust Bylaw Committee, in order to advise the Select Board on development of a draft bylaw for consideration at the 2022 Annual Town Meeting. The Board set this as the next step toward establishing a Housing Trust, as was authorized by voters at Special Town Meeting on October 23rd. 

The purpose of the Affordable Housing Trust (AHT) Bylaw Committee is to advise the Select Board on development of a draft bylaw for consideration by 2022 Annual Town Meeting.

This is a call for interest from residents who would like to be appointed to the Committee.  The Board hopes to make appointments at its next regularly-scheduled meeting on Monday, December 6th, so if you would like to be considered please submit a completed Application for Appointment to the Town Manager's Office by email at selectboard@wnewbury.org or drop it off at the office.  Hard copies of the Application for Appointment can also be picked up at the Town Clerk's office.
