Thanks to many factors including the war in Ukraine and inflation, energy costs across the board are increasing at stunning rates.
On November 1, 2022, National Grid costs for electricity will go up 64%. A typical residential electric bill will increase from $179 last winter to $293.
As of July 2022, natural gas prices in Massachusetts have increased by 52% above last year. Additional increases may be expected in winter.
Heating oil will increase about 10%, propane cost increases are less dramatic.
