Conservation Commission Public Hearing

Proposed Wetlands Protection Bylaw
Event Date:
Monday, March 15, 2021 - 7:30pm

The West Newbury Conservation Commission has scheduled a public hearing on Monday, March 15, at 7 p.m. to discuss its Local Wetlands Protection bylaw proposed for Spring Town Meeting. (Click here to view the proposed language.) A majority of towns in Massachusetts have used Home Rule authority to establish this bylaw, including neighboring towns such as Newburyport, Merrimac, Georgetown, Boxford, and North Andover. West Newbury’s wetlands protection bylaw will protect the current and future inhabitants of the Town from the costs of wetland degradation through regulations that more adequately protect the function of resource areas.
