Update: Rocks Village Drawbridge

Lane closure scheduled for tomorrow Thursday, Sept. 19th

As you may know, the bridge was struck and damaged by an over-height truck on 07/05/19. There was damage to the structural steel of the truss, damage to the guardrail and damage to the bridge deck.

MassDOT's contractor (Cora Operations) and their specialty subcontractor will be on the bridge tomorrow (09/19/19) repairing the damage to the guardrail and damage to the bridge deck.

They plan to close the lane from West Newbury to Haverhill near the center of the bridge.  Police details from Haverhill and West Newbury will alternate traffic.

The plan is to begin work at 8 AM (after all buses have gone over the bridge). The repairs to the deck are anticipated to take up to 10 hours due to curing time of the epoxy being used; therefore, the lane will be closed to as late as 6 PM.
