A comprehensive report on options for the Select Board to address two insect pests, the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) and Spotted Lanternfly (SLF), was just released.

The report focuses on a broad range of measures that could be adopted by the town, ranging from increased educational campaigns to treating EAB-infected trees with insecticide injections to preventive actions to limit the spread of the SLF into our area.

The report, prepared by the chair of the Tree Committee, also contains information on West Newbury's land usage and forest cover as well as information on the biology and damage potential for both the EAB and the SLF.

A downloadable copy of the 28-page report is availableon the Tree Committee website at www.wnewbury.org/tree-committee, with a direct download here.

The Tree Committee Chair will present the report at the March 28th meeting of the Select Board.
