Public Input Sought Regarding Proposed MassDOT Signage for Rocks Village Bridge

Please submit any comments to selectboard@wnewbury.org

In response to the requests made by the West Newbury Select Board, MassDOT has proposed advanced notification signage leading up to and just before the Rock Village Bridge. The intent of the signage is to reduce the potential for future bridge damage due to over height vehicles.

In their capacity as Roadway Commissioners the Select Board has been asked for their input. Some of the proposed signage is located along State roadways, which are under the jurisdiction of MassDOT (so, the Board’s input is advisory); and other of the proposed signage is located within local rights-of-way under the Board’s authority.

The Board will take up MassDOT’s request for review at their upcoming meeting on Monday, September 12th beginning at 7pm. At this time the Board is seeking public input regarding the proposed signage. In this post you will find the renderings and dimensions of the proposed signs on the West Newbury side of the Rock Village Bridge.
