Governor Baker's Declaration of Emergency

As you may already know, earlier this afternoon Governor Baker declared a state of emergency in the Commonwealth.  For more information, please go to the Commonwealth website linked here.

With regard to Town government operations, all departments and offices will continue to operate as normal unless or until further notice is given.

Much of the Town's business, with regard to setting policy, licensing and permitting, annual budgeting, etc., takes place in public meetings.  People should use their own judgment as to whether they wish to attend events where there will be crowds.  Certainly if you are ill you should not attend.  The Town can make no assurance of safety or assistance.

The Town is actively looking at how to make more meetings available for viewing online and through local cable.  Suggestions are always welcome, and may be sent to selectmen@wnewbury.org.
