Controlled burn this weekend: Cherry Hill Conservation Land

The West Newbury Fire Department will conduct a controlled burn as part of the invasive species management program at Cherry Hill Conservation Land, this weekend March 2nd- March 3rd 2024.  In the event the controlled burn cannot be conducted due to unsafe weather conditions, further communication will be posted through the Town Website News & Announcements.  With the oversight of the West Newbury Fire Department, the controlled burn will be contained to invasive brush cleared during the volunteer days and a prescribed burn along the field edges.  Not only will this assist in the management of additional invasive species plants, the controlled burn will provide active training for members of the Fire Department.
