Brown Spring Farm is permanently preserved as a working farm!

We are pleased and excited to report that the acquisition of Brown Spring Farm is complete!

The purchase was closed and the Agricultural Preservation Restriction was recorded earlier today. This work relied on the vote of Town Meeting in April 2019 to support the Town's investment in this property, and the incredible work of Greenbelt - Essex County's Land Trust working in close collaboration with the Board of Selectmen, Conservation Commission, Open Space Committee, Community Preservation Committee, and Essex-based Grant Family Farm founder Christopher Grant.

Thanks to everyone's hard work, this singular property will forever be preserved as a working farm!
