DOG LICENSING / RABIES CLINIC

REMINDER TO WEST NEWBURY DOG OWNERS: The deadline for licensing your dogs for 2010 is March 31st. A current rabies cerificate must be on file with the Town Clerk's office before a license can be issued. If you are not sure of the rabies expiration date for your pet, please call the Town Clerk at 978-363-1100 ext. 110. Animal Control Office Madelyn Cirinna has scheduled a rabies clinic on April 7, 2010 from 3 to 5 PM in the lobby of the Town Office Building. There is a $10 fee for the rabies shot. The Town Clerk's office will be open during the rabies clinic to issue dog licenses.

The dog license fee is $15 for spayed or neutered dogs and $25 for dogs not spayed or neutered. There is no charge to dog owners seventy years of age or older. There is a late fee of $10 per month beginning May 1st up to a maximum of $40, to be added to the cost of the license.

NOMINATION PAPERS FOR THE MAY 3, 2010 ANNUAL TOWN ELECTION WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE ON JANUARY 4, 2010. THE DEADLINE FOR OBTAINING NOMINATION PAPERS IS 5:00 PM ON MARCH 11, 2010. NOMINATION PAPERS MUST BE RETURNED BY 5:00 PM ON MARCH 15, 2010.

 

First Live Broadcast of Selectmen's meeting occurred on November 18th,2009

On Wednesday, November 18th, 2009, the Cable Advisory committee completed another step in the process of bringing the local community access television station on-line. On the 18th, the Selectmen's meeting was broadcast live, a first for our local station. Not only was the meeting simulcast on Verizon FiOS Channel 42 and Comcast Channel 9, we also streamed the meeting Live on the internet using the new Granicus Live Meeting service. This new functionality will allow residents of West Newbury to be able to search for and view meetings on-line. In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 39, Section 23A, all meeting notices must be filed and time stamped in the Town Clerk's Office and posted on the Town Clerk's bulletin board 48 hours prior to the meeting. Meeting notices posted on the web site do not constitute official notice, and the Town is not responsible for any errors or omissions.
