Q&A Session on Emerald Ash Borer - Tree Committee

Event Date:
Wednesday, August 19, 2020 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm

The Tree Committee invites you to attend our virtual Q & A teleconference about the Emerald Ash Borer infestation that has hit West Newbury hard this year.   Details on how to join this event appear at the end of this message.

We estimate that 15% and perhaps as much as 20% of our West Newbury forests are composed of green and white ash trees, the specific targets for the EAB.  The loss of ash trees is now unmistakable along many streets in West Newbury, and there is a serious tree dieback on Pipestave Hill and at Mill Pond.

The Tree Committee is developing a campaign for West Newbury residents that will provide education and advice on controlling the spread of EAB.  As the first step in this campaign, the Tree Committee is hosting a virtual Question and Answer Session with outside tree experts on the signs of EAB infestation and on options for protecting our ash trees.  This session is planned for Wednesday, August 19th starting at 6:30 PM.  Login details appear below.  Please join us and help protect our West Newbury forests.
