Board of Health
Mission Statement
The Board of Health and its staff are dedicated to the protection of the environment by enforcing State and Town regulations regarding wells, septic systems, hazardous waste, trash and recycling.
The Board of Health helps provide for the health and wellness of West Newbury citizens, through the following activities: manage the Public Health Nurse in providing vaccines and disease surveillance, and ensuring sanitary conditions in housing, recreational facilities, school and food establishments.
The Board of Health maintains a cooperative involvement between Emergency Management, Police, Fire and School Departments relative to the handling of bio-terrorism and/or evacuation policies.
The Board of Health offers protection from mosquito borne illness by working with the Northeast Massachusetts Mosquito Control and Wetlands Management to develop and implement the Vector Management Plan.
