Return To The Moon, Forward To Mars

Friday January 21, 2022

11:00 AM

With recent spectacular advances in commercial spaceflight, space tourism, and the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope, retrace how we got here -- from Kill Devil Hills and Muroc to Cape Canaveral and Boca Chica. NASA Solar Ambassador David Ball will trace the birth of NASA, our first exploration of the Moon, and how going back is a stepping stone to the exploration of Mars and beyond. Ball served 26 years in the US Air Force as a flight nurse. He retired as a Lt Col. His deployments included Kosovo, Oman, Tunisia, Germany and Afghanistan. His civilian work life included roles as an EMT, paramedic, and RN on ambulances and in medical centers. Ball, an author of two books, educates the public on space exploration as an Astrophilatelist (collector of stamps related to spaceflight).
