Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Over the last year, the West Newbury Library staff has had to reinvent how they operate and how best to provide services to the public. In order to maintain social distance and keep circulation items sanitized and safe they developed a curbside pick-up system and shifted to all virtual programming. They upgraded their website to a mobile-friendly platform and significantly expanded their digital resources in order to give patrons remote access to information and entertainment in all formats.

The work goes on... along with the costs and expenses of new and creative library solutions. In spite of the closure, it is an exciting time for the library as more and more patrons are taking advantage of the remote, yet personalized services the library offers. Since reopening for curbside service on
June 15 the library has:
  • circulated 34,282 physical items
  • circulated 5,583 eBooks, eAudiobooks and digital magazines
  • circulated 3,082 digital newspapers
  • offered 89 virtual programs for adults, children and teens with 749 patrons attending
  • handed out 920 craft kits for kids
We hope we can count on your support, which is especially vital during these times when we cannot hold our always successful BOOK SALE fund raising activity.

Please choose to become a Member of the Friends of the West Newbury Library today!
