Guided Riverbend Birdwalk
9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Join Dr. Steve Hale from Open World Explorers for a Summer Bird Walk at West Newbury's Riverbend Conservation Area. We will slow walk the River Road and Tupelo Trails in search of the spectacular breeding birds that nest along the mighty Merrimack, including warblers, vireos, thrushes and more. We will look for evidence of successful breeding by listening and searching for begging nestlings and fledglings being fed by parents. We will also be on the lookout for eagles and Osprey cruising the Merrimack River corridor. What to bring? binoculars, field guide, tick prevention and water. Masks and social distancing are highly recommended.
Space is limited, please register.
Parking: Take Coffin Street to the end and make a right on River Road. Park at the dead end on River Road. Please carpool, walk or ride your bike there if at all possible, as parking is very limited.
